Today, this baby girl earned the most beautiful scar her parents have ever laid their eyes upon. It is long and prominent, extending all the way down her breast bone and carrying the sign of a fighter. Her open heart surgery is complete, her interrupted aortic arch is fixed and the hole in her heart is filled. She still has a helluva an adventure ahead but for now, she is being taken care of by an incredible team in the PICU. This photo is pre-surgery but wait until you see how good she makes a scar look. She is a knockout. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We received the most amazing messages and words of encouragement today. We still are not out of the woods just yet, but we are just a little bit closer. I promise to have a more detailed update on my blog very soon, not to mention whether or not we have finally decided on their names.
